Reporting to the Compliance & Operations Director, the Operations Coordinator will support the development, execution, and continuous improvement of operational programs that align with cost-efficiency, regulatory compliance, and safety objectives. The position requires collaboration across teams to optimize processes, maintain high standards, and uphold safety and compliance throughout all operations.

What you should expect:

  • Process & Compliance Documentation: Assist in developing and documenting standard operating procedures for the safe handling, collection, transportation, and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Service Provider Coordination: Work closely with the Compliance & Operations team to verify that all service providers, including transporters and recyclers, hold the required certifications and meet safety standards.
  • Supply Chain Optimization: Manage and streamline supply chain logistics to maximize operational efficiency and maintain compliance and safety standards.
  • Fulfillment Partner Coordination: Oversee fulfillment activities, ensuring inventory needs align with program requirements.
  • Logistics Management: Coordinate logistics for special projects and R&D initiatives, overseeing all aspects of shipping and inventory management.
  • Service Quality Tracking: Monitor and assess service provider performance, contributing to regular reporting on service levels and quality.
  • New Vendor Onboarding: Support the integration of new service providers, ensuring seamless onboarding and alignment with company standards.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for greater efficiency both internally and across partner operations.
  • Compliance Support: Maintain daily compliance with R2, ISO, and OHSAS standards, as well as any relevant governmental requirements.
  • Knowledge Building & Training: Develop strong knowledge of organizational recycling operations and assist with employee training on operational procedures.
  • Strategy & Policy Development: Contribute to strategy and policy initiatives to support business goals and stakeholder needs.
  • Site Inspection & Compliance Audits: Conduct regular site visits to collection and recycling partners to ensure compliance with internal and industry standards (travel required within Canada).
  • Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and leverage data to inform process improvements and enhance operational decision-making.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Manage work instructions to ensure all procedures are up-to-date, accessible, and accurately reflect current practices.
  • Project & Initiative Support: Take on responsibilities within new projects and future initiatives, maintaining a positive, solution-oriented approach.

What you should bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in operations, supply chain management, or occupational safety, with 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Hazardous Material certifications (US 49CFR, Canada TDG) are beneficial.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel.
  • Bilingual in French is an asset.
  • Project Management certification or experience is preferred.

This role offers the chance to contribute meaningfully to our operational success. If you are driven, detail-oriented, and eager to support a high-performing team, we encourage you to apply and become an integral part of our mission for safety, compliance, and efficiency.
