The unit's focus is to test scaled and full-size components installed in flowing test loops at specified pressure and thermal conditions. About the role: Select, install, program, document, and maintain commercial instrumentation and controls system components for use with testing with a goal to provide safe operations and optimum performance while minimizing system operator intervention. Work with a diverse team of engineers, scientists, technicians, project managers, equipment vendors, and construction contractors to deliver several new and innovative component testing systems from concept design through to startup and testing operations. Maintain a qualification as a lockout/tagout (LOTO) authorized employee and as a qualified electrical worker, as needed to support system startup and troubleshooting. This job also has opportunities to work within the existing fluids lab to gain hands-on testing experience, foster knowledge, and help identify improvements and disruptive technologies appropriate for incorporation into the future component testing.
