They must administer nursing care using good judgment, methods, and skills under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Physician.nnResponsibilities:nnObserves, monitors, and records physiological measurements and perform EKGs.nnProvides treatment to patients per organizational protocols.nnAssists providers with patient examinations, therapeutic measures, procedures, draws blood, places lab orders, and proposes medications and scans.nnTriaging patients.nnMonitoring and handling Cerner clinical pool and provider messages.nnAdministering injectionsnnPlanning, implementing and evaluating patients and plans for patient care – delegate as necessary.nnIdentifying and providing for physical, emotional, and developmental patient needs.nnCounseling and providing health education to patients and their families; explaining the procedures and treatments.nnResponsible for strict administration, control, and dispensation of prescription medication in accordance with organizational policy.nnNotifying the appropriate provider promptly of unusual reactions and changes in conditions.nnPerforms the functions of a Surgical Scheduler as needed and requested.nnInitiates, issues and verifies patient referrals and insurance authorization/pre-certifications as necessary.nnSafeguarding and inventorying equipment and supplies.nnFollowing Universal Precautions and Infection Control Procedures.nnThe ability to establish communication with appropriate sources in response to emergency situations.nnParticipate in performance improvement activities, staff training, weekly team huddles.nnMaintains a professional appearance and a clean, safe environment.nnRespects patients by recognizing their rights; maintaining confidentiality.nnUtilizes technology, including specialized software as applicable, to maximize productivity.nnDevelops and maintains electronic files as necessary.nnExhibits excellent interpersonal skills; provides customer service; assists other support staff as necessary; collaborates with all levels of internal leadership, management, and staff as well as outside clients, vendors, and other external parties.nnMaintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.nnOther duties as assigned.nnQualifications/Requirements:nnExperience:nnMinimum one (1) year of nursing experience preferred.nnEducation:nnGraduate degree from an accredited licensed practical nurse program required.nnLicenses / Certifications:nnCurrent New York State LPN license.
