Role Overview:As a Behavior Aide/Paraprofessional, you'll be a vital part of the classroom, supporting teachers by working directly with special education students, both individually and in groups, to enhance their learning experience. You'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on their lives.

  • Competitive hourly rate of $21-$24, paid weekly

  • Consistent Monday to Friday schedule

  • No weekend work required

  • Typical hours: 8am to 2:30/3pm, for a total of 30-35 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Behavioral Support: Help implement and oversee behavioral intervention plans (BIPs), provide positive reinforcement, and use de-escalation techniques to support student needs.

  • Individualized Support: Deliver personalized, one-on-one or small group assistance to special education students, adapting teaching materials to meet their specific needs.

  • Classroom Assistance: Assist teachers in managing classroom behaviors, encouraging active participation, and creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

  • Data Collection: Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviors, using this data to inform and adjust support strategies.

  • Communication: Work closely with teachers, parents, and school staff to ensure effective communication and a cohesive approach to supporting students.

Required Qualifications/Experience:

  • High School Diploma

  • Experience working with children

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to stay calm and patient in challenging situations

  • English proficiency

Preferred:

  • Experience in special education, particularly with moderate to severe behaviors

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Knowledge of behavioral intervention strategies

  • CPR and First Aid certification
