Virginia Health Services is hiring a RN, Wound Care Nurse for the Newport News, VA area. This is an exciting new opportunity to be apart of the leadership team and learn new skills! This position is a Full-Time opportunity that will include working Monday - Friday, 8am-4:30pm, with a possibility of occasional weekends.nnEssential Duties and Responsibilities:nnPerforms dressing changes for pressure ulcers/other wounds as directed.nnDocuments pressure ulcer measurements weekly.nnProvides care plan interventions to prevent and promote healing of pressure ulcers.nnDocuments wound assessment weekly in Nurses NotesnnAssures responsible party and physician are notified of wound changes.nnMakes rounds with the wound care physician, contacts attending physician for orders and assures follow up to promote wound healing.nnMonitors and manages systems as directed by the DON.nnPerforms staff education as directed.nnComplies with all established policies and procedures.nnAttends and participates in committees as assigned.nnPromotes and demonstrates positive customer service towards VHS, co-workers, residents and visitors.nnPerforms other duties as assigned.
