Duties and Responsibilities: Customer Service - Proactively engage and connect with customers. Ask questions and listen to customer needs. Direct customers to merchandise and inform them about upcoming events, promotions, and mobile offers. Provide premier customer service. Cooperate and build positive, inclusive, and respectful relationships; take accountability for your own actions and outcomes. Organization - Maintain store appearance. Sales - Cross-sell products and know the layout of the store. Make suggestions to customers on the latest trends and current promotions based on individual needs. Upsell products. Learn product features and keep up with the latest trends, leveraging company tools and technology to provide confident product knowledge. Use a Point-of-Sales system to process cash exchanges, discounts, gift cards, credit cards, and debit cards, including counting money and returning accurate amounts to customers. Complete various forms of paperwork, reports, and reconciliation. Inventory - Be the keeper of merchandise; complete all inventory processes and ensure merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed. May participate in periodic inventories. Responsible for the security of cash, fixed assets, and merchandise inventory. Provide direction on assignments, including prioritizing projects and managing merchandise and inventory. Dependability - Adhere to assigned work schedule; ensure accurate and complete follow-through on work assignments. Supervisory Requirements - Provide effective leadership, demonstrate the ability to direct, train, and motivate associates, and set a positive example. Responsible for providing coaching and feedback timely and professionally. Provide direction, work assignments, and training to sales associates; provide input to Department Manager on associate performance. May open or close locations. Other Duties as Assigned Qualifications: Product Knowledge - Moderate level of knowledge of products and merchandise. Provide training documentation to sales associates on product features. Experience - 1-2 years of retail or relevant work experience required; 1 year of lead or supervisory experience preferred. Communication Skills - Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively communicate with customers, peers, and management. Mathematical Skills - Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Ability to use a calculator and calculate percentages and ratios. Must be able to make change in American monetary units. Reasoning Ability - Ability to multi-task while being attentive to customers and remaining flexible to the needs of the business. Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independent of direct supervision. Ability to defuse escalated exchanges and create win-win situations. Physical Demands/Work Environment - This position involves constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, and standing for at least two consecutive hours. May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. Vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Involves lifting at least 25 lbs. and up to 50 lbs. in some departments. Work typically performed indoors but may be assigned outdoors depending upon location. And Specialized Experience - 1 year of progressively responsible experience in retail sales performing the kind of duties which constitute the principal work of the position to be filled. Substitution of Education for Experience - Study completed in a college, university, or junior college above the high school level may be substituted on the basis of one-half academic year of study for 6 months of experience. At any level, specialized experience may be substituted for required general experience.
