Report any accidents, incidents or near misses to the Safety Department and complete the required Accident Reporting Forms within 24 hours. Complete all required safety-related inspections. Do not install or make changes to any equipment or machinery that may jeopardize the health and safety of any employee. Ensure all employees under your guidance have received all required training to perform their job safely. Implement and maintain a stable and repeatable molding process utilizing data collection, statistical analysis tools, team-based problem solving, documentation and communication of changes. Continually monitor and troubleshoot all processes related to injection molding. React to feedback from internal and external customers and participate in 8-D, 5 Why and related problem-solving activities. Oversee activities of Process Technicians, Mold Setters and Material Handlers, coordinating coverage for vacancies and being on call when required. Identify growth and development opportunities and ongoing training needs for Process Technicians, Mold Setters and Material Handlers, which provide for an overall positive working environment. Collect and provide fair and objective information upon request to support Performance Appraisal and Corrective Action processes. Support Departmental KOI goals to achieve business objectives related to uptime, part quality, mold change time and cycle time. Assist in the development of tools and other activities consistent with departmental expectations. Continually strive to exceed goals. Lead cycle time reduction in conjunction with Molding APQP for cell layout. Develop and install secondary equipment in conjunction with APQP engineering and maintenance. Work with raw material suppliers to reduce costs and to develop new products as required. Ensure the latest models, charts, aids, and labor standards are available. Develop and implement PFMEA’s, Continual Improvement Plans, Control Plans and work instructions in the Molding Department. Maintain ISO 9000/TS16949 procedures as they relate to process requirements and documentation thereof. Maintain a high departmental standard for housekeeping in the Injection Molding and RIM area. Ensure that all accidents are properly reported and accident investigations are completed within 24 hours. Perform other duties as directed. Who We Are Looking For Ten years minimum injection molding experience preferred. Experience processing plastics and setting tools is a must. Knowledge of automation systems and controls is preferred. Associate’s Degree in a technical field of study required. Ten years work-related experience may be substituted in lieu of degree. Work experience combined with current schooling towards degree will be considered. Coursework relating to injection molding is an asset.
