Your Role on the Team Under the direction and supervision of the Custodial Supervisor performs various skilled and semi-skilled custodial duties on the UCI campus. Operates cleaning equipment and ensures area is clean. Responsible for the security of area and possession of master keys. May serve as work leader for a small group of custodians.

The expected pay range for this position is $20.46- $23.73 (hourly)
Required:
- Ability to read and understand labels or instructions for cleaning solutions utilized in housekeeping as well as basic work instructions from supervisor.
- Substantial experience in Carpet and Hard Floor Care
- Ability to follow blueprints and diagrams.
- Cleaning Skills: Able to sweep, vacuum, mop, dust, polish, perform overhead cleaning, wash walls & windows, clean bathrooms, kitchens, office areas and other building surfaces.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, co-workers, and supervisor.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Ability to use all cleaning equipment: Floor machines for stripping and waxing of hard floors, buffing and polishing. Carpet machines used for bonneting, extraction, and encapsulation. Upholstery machines, tank vacuums, upright and backpack vacuums, wide area vacuums, mops and brooms, extension poles, short ladders, automatic scrubbers.
- Ability to learn and implement security measures.
- Ability to prepare repair orders.
- Ability to read, write, give and follow oral and written instructions in English.
- General knowledge of safety precautions in the use of equipment, chemicals, lifting, customer traffic, etc.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals, ability to select appropriate chemical for the job, ability to mix and dilute chemicals appropriately, and handle chemicals safely.
- Understand emergency preparation and response plan.
Preferred:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills.
- Experience on a graveyard shift. Knowledge of Campus and Campus Infrastructure
Special Conditions:
- Must accept a 5 day workweek beginning at 8:30pm and ending at 5:00am, including occasional overtime assignments. Schedule to be determined by management. Workweek and times are subject to change.
- Must possess a valid California Driver License and participate in the DMV Pull Notice Program.
- Must be able to operate a Facilities Management vehicle.
- Must be able to outside regularly scheduled shift.
- Must be able to wear PPE. .
