Position Title: Shipper Pay Rate: $23.90/hr (shift differential for 2nd shift is $0.25) Category/Shift: Hourly Full-Time (7:30 am – 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday) Physical Location: 201 E. 28th Street, Charlotte, NC 28206 The Job You Will Perform: Perform advanced level material handling for material processing along with routine tasks such as sorting, deboxing, shredding, and receiving. Complete daily pre-start forklift maintenance inspection report (or VCR). Load and unload trailers, rail cars, and/or containers. Complete load sheet to accurately record the grades, bale count, loading start/stop times for finished goods on outbound shipments. Assist with basic material grading. Complete bill of lading sheet for shipments. Follow proper trailer loading and unloading lock-out/tag-out procedure. Understand and follow load pattern according to trailer, railcar, bale size, and weight variables. Assist with removing finished bales and storing in proper location. Complete PMs for all certified mobile equipment regularly. Participate in weekly and monthly inventory and reporting. Schedule loads on 3rd party trucking. Attend and participate in Plant safety meetings. Maintain a safe and clean work environment according to Plant housekeeping standards. Manage controllable costs through proper equipment, tool, and consumable usage. Adhere to Plant policies and guidelines. Report any safety or maintenance concerns. Communicate to dispatch when trailers are completely loaded and/or unloaded including trailer number, door number. Communicate with floor lead – maintenance issues, downtime, production issues, unacceptable or non-conforming loads, poor bale quality, errors on supplier tickets versus actual receipts, any other issues with material being handled. Other duties as assigned. The Skills You Will Bring: Must be 18 years of age. Must be authorized to work in the United States. Ability to work any shift as needed. Ability to work overtime as needed. Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. (if needed). Ability to stand for extensive periods of time and stay physically active all day. Ability to multitask and pay close attention to detail and accuracy. Alertness, visual ability, and concern for quality. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Excellent teamwork, cooperation, and problem-solving skills. Flexibility and adaptability to changing work demands. On-the-job success in safety, attendance & quality of work expected. Ability to complete the following training requirements: Paper Grade Recognition Training, Lock-out, Tag out procedures. Ability to operate/monitor the following equipment: Forklift with multiple attachments, Front End Loader, Skid Steer, Hand Truck.
