Position Summary:
The US Manufacturing Benefits Manager is responsible for designing, managing, and optimizing employee benefits programs for the company’s manufacturing operations in the United States. This role ensures compliance with federal and state regulations while aligning with business objectives. The position supports HR strategies to enhance employee satisfaction, improve cost efficiency, and drive process improvements in benefits administration.
Primary Responsibilities:
Benefits Program Management:
- Design and implement employee benefits programs, including health insurance, 401(k), leave policies, and other employee perks.
- Regularly review and analyze the effectiveness and competitiveness of benefits programs to ensure alignment with business needs and industry benchmarks.
- Monitor benefits budgets and develop cost-saving strategies.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure all benefits programs comply with federal and state laws.
- Collaborate with the legal team to review policies and documents regularly to maintain compliance.
Vendor Management:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with benefits providers and third-party administrators to ensure quality and timely service delivery.
- Evaluate and select vendors, conduct cost-benefit analyses, and negotiate contract terms.
Employee Communication and Support:
- Develop and implement benefits education programs to help employees understand and maximize the value of their benefits.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits promptly and accurately.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Collect and analyze benefits utilization data to generate reports and support decision-making.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to senior leadership to improve benefits programs and policies.
Cross-function Collaboration:
- Work closely with HR, Finance and Operations team to ensure benefits programs align with the company overall strategy.
- Support unique benefits needs related to manufacturing operations, such as shift incentives or location-specific adjustments.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, finance, or related field.
- 5-7 years of experience managing benefits programs, preferably within manufacturing or multi-site environments.
Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of U.S. benefits regulations and best practices.
- Proficiency in vendor management and contract negotiations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to derive actionable insights from data.
- Excellent communication and employee education skills.
- Certifications: CEBS (Certified Employee Benefits Specialist) or SHRM certification is preferred.
