Title: Mechanical Engineer – Hydraulics Focus
Location: Rapid City, SD – Hybrid
Position Type: Contract (24 months)
Authorization: W-2 or C2C
Compensation:
- $21/hr W-2 + Benefits (Rate increases by $4/hr after 6 months)
- $26/hr+ C2C or Self-Corp (Rate depends on experience and fit)
A leading global manufacturer is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with expertise in hydraulics to join their team. The role involves researching, designing, and developing mechanical products and systems with a focus on hydraulics, utilizing engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical schematics to deliver high-quality solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, design, manufacture, and test tools, engines, machines, and other mechanical devices with an emphasis on hydraulics.
- Analyze customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility regarding time, cost, and materials.
- Assist drafters in developing structural designs using tools, equipment, or software.
- Collaborate with suppliers, analyze costs, and support the design and detailing processes for assigned hydraulics projects.
- Participate in team collaboration meetings and daily interactions to align with project priorities and customer needs.
Typical Day in the Role
- Manage and track multiple projects assigned by the engineering team leader.
- Conduct design, detailing, research, and supplier collaboration tasks for hydraulics-focused projects.
- Work in a fast-paced, supportive team environment that promotes collaboration and continuous learning.
Skills & Qualifications
Required:
- 1+ years of hydraulics experience.
- Proficiency with CAD software (preferably CREO or SolidWorks).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, hydraulic schematics, and technical drawings.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (firm requirement).
- 2-4 years of relevant experience (internships count).
Desired:
- 3+ years of hydraulics experience.
- Experience in manufacturing environments.
Disqualifiers:
- 15+ years of experience or Master’s degree.
