We are seeking a reliable and skilled Class A Tractor-Trailer Driver to join our logistics team to ensure the timely and safe delivery of our products to various locations.
The Class A Tractor-Trailer Driver will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of kosher food products from our warehouse to customer locations. The driver will ensure that all deliveries are made in compliance with all transportation laws and company policies while maintaining the highest level of professionalism and customer service. This position requires a strong attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to operate heavy-duty vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a Class A tractor-trailer to transport kosher food products to various customer locations.
- Ensure timely delivery and pick-up of products according to pre-established schedules.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip, in-route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is safe and roadworthy.
- Maintain accurate records of delivery times, mileage, fuel use, and any delays or issues encountered.
- Ensure all cargo is securely loaded and unloaded in accordance with safety standards.
- Follow all company policies and legal requirements regarding the transport of kosher food products, including maintaining food safety protocols.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations related to driving and vehicle operation, including hours of service.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle and ensure it is properly stocked with necessary equipment (e.g., straps, blankets, etc.).
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and warehouse staff to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues in a timely manner.
- Provide exceptional customer service when interacting with clients during deliveries, ensuring that products are delivered in a professional and courteous manner.
- Report any vehicle maintenance issues or accidents immediately to the appropriate personnel.
- Ensure compliance with kosher dietary laws during the loading, transport, and unloading processes.
Qualifications:
- Valid Class A CDL (Commercial Driver's License) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating a Class A tractor-trailer, preferably in the food industry or related field.
- Familiarity with kosher food safety standards and practices is preferred, but not required (training can be provided).
- Strong understanding of transportation regulations, including hours of service, and DOT compliance.
- Ability to safely operate large vehicles in various road and weather conditions.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with others in a team-oriented environment.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and capable of managing time effectively to meet delivery deadlines.
- Ability to lift and move products weighing up to 50 lbs. (with appropriate lifting equipment).
- Strong attention to detail, safety-conscious, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Clean criminal background check and drug screening required.
