Job Description

Responsible to: Head of Operations

Department: Operations

Location: Vancouver Head Office

Salary: 68-75k annually


We are hiring a full time (40hrs/week) operations specialist to maintain our group of companies’ daily operations, including analyzing, optimizing and auditing operational processes, overseeing junior operations team members, and liaising with external stakeholders. This role will have a focus on buying, planning and merchandising systems and processes within our business.


Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with inter-departmental teams to identify and assess and develop systems to mitigate operational gaps and risks.
  • Assess, propose and develop improvements to optimize operations, processing, logistics and records management systems.
  • Manage discovery, development, deployment and implementation of assigned business and operational projects and initiatives.
  • Solutioning with business subject matter expects (SME’s) on opportunities to optimize processes & systems to achieve business objectives
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to maintain timelines, manage expectations and deliver outcomes within agreed schedules, budgets and to business requirements.
  • Develop, distribute, train and drive adoption of updated business processes.
  • Analyze and advise on the business’ required process/operations management practices and methods.
  • Investigate, review and report on the performance, efficiency and effectiveness of existing process/operations management policies and procedures.
  • Implementation of improvement plans and processes.
  • Develop and maintain quality management programs and conduct quality audits on system policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance, support and training to staff and organizational departments to ensure compliance to regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures.
  • Collaboration with contracted agencies and external stakeholders for operational and business development projects.
  • Supervise, train and develop junior and clerical operational staff.


Skills/Experience/Knowledge needed:

  • 3+ years of applicable and proven operations, merchandising or business management experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in merchandising, business administration, commerce or engineering or an equivalent of applicable experience.
  • Experience with retail merchandising/planning software and systems an asset
  • Relevant retail or associated industry experience an asset.
  • Project management, change management, risk management and leadership experience.
  • Detail oriented and ability to analyze and improve operational and inter-departmental processes.
  • Results oriented and driven.
  • Strong people management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong problem solving and time management skills.
