As a Pastry Cook II , you would be responsible for preparation of baked goods, cakes and desserts for the outlets and banquets ensuring all production is ready in a timely manner with meets quality standards. This includes, but is not limited to, the following duties:
- Prepare items listed on production sheet.
- Rotate old stock out first. Ask chef if freshness is questionable.
- Date and label all items going into freezer and walk-in, clean as you go.
- Store all items in approved containers that are wrapped, dated and labeled. Follow food handler’s guidelines.
- Clean all small equipment such as mixers, buffalo choppers, etc., yourself immediately after using them.
- Practice and abide by all Resort rules and regulations, safety and sanitation policies at all times.
- Maintain a professional attitude, demeanor and appearance. Wear proper uniform and footwear at all times.
- Demonstrate commitment to making a conscientious effort to eliminate or reduce the risk of injury to our guests and associates, damage to our property or the property of others. Know the correct action to take in the event of an emergency and demonstrate this knowledge by acting appropriately in the event of an emergency.
This is a full-time position, and you must have availability to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays. The typical shift for this role is the AM shift from 6:30am - 3pm.
Qualifications
- At least two (2) years pastry experience in a high-volume operation
- One (1) year of hotel experience, preferred
- Upscale / luxury dining experience, preferred
- Food Handler Card
- Graduate of an Apprenticeship or accredited Culinary School, preferred
- Attention to detail
- Great attitude
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
