General Purpose:
n
The Accounting Specialist will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the company. This role is crucial to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining the integrity of accounting records, and assisting with the preparation of financial statements. The Accounting Specialist will work closely with the other departments of the company and the headquarter in Switzerland to ensure that all financial activities are conducted and reported in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and company policies. The Accounting Specialist works with minimal supervision, manages own time effectively, maintains control over all current projects/responsibilities and follows up on all relevant issues.

Responsibilities/Job Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:
n
n- Handles monthly and annual closings in close collaboration with headquarters in a timely manner
n- Handles accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice processing, reconciliations, and cash flow management
n- Take care of the company's payment methods, reconcile bank and credit card statements, and ensure timely payments
n- Organizes and maintains accurate financial and company records
n- Calculations and reports on sales tax based on paid invoices
n- Provides assistance and information to outside auditors as requested
n- Maintains financial control of all aspects of inventory including provisioning and average costing
n- Maintains financial control of all fixed assets in the manufacturing department including tooling
n- Monitors insurance policies
n- Under the guidance of the Plant Manager or CFO, assists other departments with the financial aspects of special projects
n- Proactively identifies opportunities to improve accounting processes and contribute to the implementation of process improvements
n- Fulfils other duties as assigned
n- Experience with Epicor is a plus

Education/Experience: 3-5+ years of accounting experience preferred. Bachelor's degree in accounting is a plus.

Mathematical Skills : Basic math skills required.
n
Language Skills: Will be required to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos, to write correspondence, memos, and schedule; to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests, clients, and fellow staff.

Environment/Noise: Most work is performed indoors. Some work may be performed outside in all types of weather. Is exposed to noise, vibration, dust, oil, solvents, dirt, and fumes, and odors that may affect the eyes, ears, nose, throat and or skin.
