1. Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program.
2. Training and Experience: Certification by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists as a Radiology Technologist and/or CT Technologist. Prior experience preferred; extensive on the job training.
3. Job Knowledge: Ability to operate CT equipment; manage patients during radiology procedure; have knowledge of exams using contrast agents. Knowledge of radiographic equipment, radiation safety; flexibility to work overtime as needed as well as on-call duty and disaster work as required by workload and /unforeseen circumstances; must display a good understanding of age-related developmental issues of Neonate, Infant, Child, Adolescence, Adult and Geriatric follow oral and written instructions; communicate with patients, visitors and employees within the organization.

DESCRIPTION:
Performs CT scanning examinations, contributing to the efficient operation of the department and promoting the philosophy, to ensure the quality and continuity of patient care.
Physical Effort: Worker is required to stand much of the day and work is moderately heavy. Extensive amounts of assisting, pushing, pulling and lifting patients is required. Workers must be able to adjust routine to accommodate patient or department without affecting departmental flow. Position requires ability to constantly lift objects heavier than 50 lb., perform difficult manipulative skills and hand-eye coordination skills, walk and stand for prolonged periods, see objects closely and hear normal sounds with some background noises. Worker must adjust to performing routine, repetitive tasks without specific supervision. Worker will be performing within a radiation area. Employee may frequently be exposed to blood, body fluids/tissues and electromagnetic ionizing radiation as in CRT's(VDT's).
Mental Effort: Position requires ability to concentrate on fine detail with constant interruption and attend to tasks for 20-45 minutes at a time. Individual must be able to understand and relate to the concepts behind specific ideas and remember multiple tasks given to self and others over long periods of time. Must be able to communicate verbally, using advanced level of vocabulary. Interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with patients and families of all age groups, all radiology/nuclear medicine staff, referring physicians and residents, nursing scheduling, patient escort services and administration who may or may not be under physical and /or emotional stress. Frequent interaction with personnel in other departments and with vendors. The ability to maintain confidential information.
