This Engineer role knows where to look if something breaks and is key in solving challenges quickly. Principal Infrastructure Engineers are skilled in finding new ways to build technical capabilities and influencing the adoption of best practices. Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.nnResponsibilitiesnnDefine and deliver features to enhance the OCP platform.nnParticipate in troubleshooting, upgrades, cost optimization and remediation activities across the OCP platform.nnGood experience with of any one OpenShift / K8s supported Networking CNI. (Plus if you know Calico)nnGood experience of AWS infrastructure (VPC / Security groups / EC2 / Storages / Load Balancers)nnUnderstanding of platform automation products like RH ACM.nnMentor other engineers on the team to increase overall platform knowledge and standardized approaches.nnContributes to product delivery, influenced by strategic direction across Business Technology and enterprise including investment decisions (i.e., build vs buy) across multiple products. Uses automation, system tools, open-source solutions, observability and 'security first' principles in daily worknnContributes to team agile ceremonies, leads demos and presentations, helps new engineers learn established normsnnBridges desired Business features to BT capabilities and executes groundwork in requirement translations and design. Initiates detailed level solution design approaches across multiple domains, and guides team to achieve desired key software delivery capabilities using automated, coded enterprise and observabilitynnParticipates in (internal/external) speaking and advocacy events. Coaches core technology communities and is actively engaged in understanding and researching new technologiesnnResearches and adopts new technology solutions and ways to build technical capabilitiesnnContinues professional education and creates opportunities for broader engineering teams to learn industry best practicesnnMinimum QualificationsnnAt a minimum, here’s what we need from you:nnBachelors – Computer Science or relatednn6+ Years – (Software) Engineering, DevOps or relatednnInternal applicants only: technical proficiency rating of proficient on the Dreyfus engineering scalennPreferred QualificationsnnBonus Points If You Have:nnExperience with Kubernetes operatorsnnExperience with TridentnnExperience with OpenshiftnnExperience with AWS RDSnnExcessive enthusiasm around cloud migration, platform simplification and cost optimizationnnExperience as a Platform Engineer in a DevOps environmentnnExperience with developing and maintaining platform services on OpenShift using operators.nnExperience in programming languages such as Java, Golang, C++, etc.nnExperience in Infrastructure as Code (IAC)nnGit/GitHub, Jenkins CI/CDnnScripting languages like shell / Helm modulesnnExperience with Terraform and Ansible.nnStrong verbal and written communication skills.nnStrong collaboration skills, responsive to service needs and project demands in a fast-changing environment.nnWorking in agile environmentnnExternal applicants will be required to perform a technical interview.nn#LI-MF1nn#Remotenn#BI-RemotennApplication Deadline:nnThe application window for this position is anticipated to close on Nov-30-2024.
