Position Overview:
n
Substation Foreperson primary function is to supervise a crew to ensure the proper administration of training, disciplinary action, work production, adherence to safety practices and interpretation of policies. Willingness to travel is a must.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
n
n- n
Responsible for the job briefing of the crew on work tasks and the hazards associated with the job.
n n- n
Provide daily communication with the client’s representatives.
n n- n
Civil work may include working in substations and on transmission lines.
n n- n
Directs the crewmembers on specific job tasks.
n n- n
Ability to read grade and use auto level.
n n- n
Ability to layout work using an electronic theodolite.
n n- n
Receives and interprets orders by the General Foreperson and Coordinator of utilities.
n n- n
Enforces safety practices and obtains permission from property owners to perform work.
n n- n
Assists with accident reports and incident investigations.
n n- n
Responsible for job cost control.
n n- n
Responsible for inspections, proper working conditions and necessary repairs to tools and equipment.
n n- n
Assists with field training to crew members on new equipment.
n n- n
Directs emergency situations.
n n- n
Able to read and understand Blue Prints for site grading, steel erection, equipment installation and bus assemblies. Applicants that are proficient in Electrical wiring prints and schematics are preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:
n
n- n
Must be 18 years of age or older.
n n- n
Able to perform hands-on management of many types of maintenance and new construction activities.
n n- n
Proficient in all phases of Substation Construction including but not limited to Electrical, Mechanical and Civil aspects of construction.
n n- n
Able to comprehend blue prints.
n n- n
Able to visualize the job build.
n n- n
Must be able to identify the hazards on the job.
n n- n
Must have cognition to solve problems.
n n
n
Education & Experience
n
n- n
High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
n n- n
Minimum of 5 years work experience as Journeyman in Substation Construction.
n n- n
Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Foreperson.
n n
n
Pre-Screen
n
n- Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.

n- Must be willing to travel and work away from home.
