Performs interventional diagnostic procedures which are complex and elaborate in order to assist the physician in the diagnosis of injury and/or disease.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Graduate of AMA approved school of Radiology Technology.
2. Must have West Virginia State license.
EXPERIENCE:
1. Twelve (12) months of coronary intervention experience required for Cardiac Cath department only.
CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. They are not intended to be constructed as an all-inclusive list of all responsibilities and duties. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Prepares and explains exams to patients.
2. Performs all exams that pertain to specialty area.
3. Maintains proper radiation protection for all patients as established by set guidelines, when appropriate.
4. Maintains current knowledge procedures in specialty area in order to perform assigned duties.
5. Assists physicians during specialty exams.
6. Maintains all records of needed service of equipment.
7. Upon completion of exam, all paperwork is finished that deals with patient.
8. Cognizant of environmental factors, infection control issues and maintains a safe environment for patient care.
9. Participates in self-evaluation and develops a plan for professional development based on personal / unit goals /strategic plans.
10. Participates in the education / oversight of orientees, ancillary staff, and students in collaboration with the preceptor, manager, and/or designated education coordinator.
11. Active on selected committees for the purpose of exchanging information and participating in problem solving methods.
12. Arranges own knowledge base and development by attending formal and/or informal educational activities.
13. Assists in identifying problems for investigation, collecting data for research projects and applying current concepts to patient care.
