Senior Superintendent - San Antonio, TX
Summary:
A general contracting firm in San Antonio, TX, specializing in commercial construction, is seeking a Senior Superintendent to oversee field operations for complex projects. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to mentor junior staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage on-site construction activities, ensuring projects meet deadlines, budget, and quality standards.
- Supervise and lead field personnel, subcontractors, and vendors, fostering collaboration and efficiency.
- Use P6 (Primavera) or similar software to manage schedules and monitor progress.
- Utilize construction apps like Procore or PlanGrid for project documentation and coordination.
- Mentor junior project engineers and field staff, promoting growth and knowledge-sharing.
- Perform layout tasks using traditional equipment or total stations to ensure accuracy.
- Conduct site inspections to enforce safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
- Communicate with clients, providing updates and resolving concerns as needed.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of Superintendent experience in commercial construction, particularly K-12 or Higher Education.
- Proficiency in construction methods, materials, and safety standards.
- Experience with scheduling software, like P6, and construction management tools (Procore, PlanGrid).
- Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- Experience with layout tools (traditional or total station).
- Previous GC experience
- Must be based in San Antonio or committed to relocating.
- OSHA 30-Hour Certification or similar safety training is preferred.
