PACS Administrator – Full Time

Summary:

The PACS Administrator oversees daily Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) operations across entire Health System. This role collaborates closely with Medical Imaging leadership, Providers, Cardiology, and IT to ensure optimal system performance and support the delivery of high-quality patient care.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure data integrity, system consistency, and compliance with patient privacy standards (HIPAA).
  • Manage user access, profiles, and system configurations, and oversee system performance monitoring, storage, training, and troubleshooting.
  • Maximize system uptime and utilization.
  • Test and document procedures to ensure system accuracy and reliability.
  • Develop site-specific recovery plans and provide on-call support in coordination with the PACS Assistant.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system and network issues, reporting to vendors and leadership as needed.
  • Provide leadership for Medical Imaging teams to optimize PACS functionality.
  • Collaborate with leadership to plan system upgrades, enhancements, and replacements to meet Health System needs.
  • Coordinate and deliver training for PACS users to ensure system consistency and effective use.
  • Mentor, train, and evaluate PACS Assistant Administrator to maintain engagement and performance standards.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Radiologic Science preferred.
  • Experience: Accredited PACS certificate program graduate or 3 years of full-time PACS Administrator experience.
  • Licensure: Certified Imaging Informatics preferred.
  • Skills: Supervisory and leadership skills, technical problem-solving, strong interpersonal and communication abilities (verbal and written).
