We are seeking a Security Engineer in Las Vegas, Nevada, to support a 24x7x365 Cyber Security Network Operations team. This role involves monitoring and maintaining network hardware, resolving system issues, and performing system administration tasks.
Compensation & Benefits:Estimated Starting Salary Range for
Security Engineer: $75,000 to $90,000
Pay commensurate with experience.
Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.
Security Engineer Responsibilities Include: - Monitor and maintain network hardware, applications, and system/server infrastructure.
- Provide updates and resolution documentation for service tickets.
- Troubleshoot software and hardware issues to ensure stable system performance.
- Execute system administration tasks, including patching, upgrades, backups, and configurations.
- Collaborate to integrate Linux/Unix and Microsoft Windows services.
- Conduct root cause analyses to prevent recurring issues.
- Support forensic analysis and resolve server-related trouble tickets.
- Perform user account management and system hardening.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Security Engineer Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or 4 years of equivalent experience
- 5+ years of relevant information security experience
- Compliance with DoD 8570 CND-IAT I-III certifications within 12 months of hire.
- Proficiency in supporting Windows/Linux servers in hybrid environments.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
- Scripting (Bash, Python, Perl, PowerShell).
- Experience with tools such as Splunk, Suricata, Corelight, and Gigamon.
- Familiarity with system hardening (STIG, vulnerability management).
- Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
