Description
Architect (Multiple Positions) (Stantec Architecture, Inc.; Arlington, VA): Prepare architectural designs through sketches, physical models, electronic models, diagrams, massing studies, and other visual formats. Utilize BIM technologies to develop 3-D models of buildings and their components. Lead critiques and pin-ups. Interpret and apply regulatory building codes and requirements. Prepare and revise documents during various architectural phases including site plans, floor plans, building elevations, and building sections. Participate in bidding and negotiation phase and prepares addendums. Review shop drawings and submittals, respond to RFIs, prepare site observation reports, and other contract administration tasks. Lead project coordination meetings with internal team members, external consultants, owners, contractors, and sub-contractors. Support value analysis and basic cost estimating. Participate in constructability reviews. Conduct quality assurance and quality control analysis on projects. 40 hours per week, M-F (9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.). #GTM #LI-DNI
Qualifications
Requirements:
Must have a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Architecture, or a related field, and 5 years of post-bachelor's, progressive related work experience; OR a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Architecture, or a related field, and 3 years of related work experience.
Of the required experience, must have 3 years of experience with the following: Design standards for Commercial, Residential, and Public Facility building projects; Using one of the following software platforms: Revit, Adobe Creative Suites, SketchUp, Enscape, or AutoCAD; Preparing architectural design documents based on client specifications; Applying accessibility codes and building codes; and Building construction systems, means and methods, materials, and industry standards.
Must have an active U.S. Architect license.
Telecommuting permitted 2 days a week, depending on business need.
Travel to various locations throughout the US required up to 10%.
