The Opportunity

As part of the America's team, SANY is looking to recruit a driven, forward-thinking and highly motivated HS&E Manager. With the deep investment and backing of SANY Group, the Americas business expects to grow significantly in the coming years. Critical to this growth is the appointment of a high-quality HS&E Manager who is responsible for implementing and continuously improving SANY America's Health, Safety, and Environmental programs, with a specific focus on integrating Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) principles of SANY America Inc.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Regulatory Compliance
    1. Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and relevant state regulations while embedding HOP principles into compliance strategies.
    2. Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory inspections, preparing and maintaining necessary documentation.
    3. Manage regulatory reporting and ensure prompt responses to regulatory agencies.


  • Incident Management, Investigation, and Learning
    1. Lead investigations using HOP principles to understand not just the "what" but the "why" behind incidents and near misses.
    2. Identify root causes by exploring organizational, human, and system factors; implement corrective actions aimed at reducing error traps.
    3. Develop and facilitate learning teams and post-event reviews, ensuring a systematic approach to capturing and disseminating insights organization-wide.


  • Training & HOP Education
    1. Design and deliver HS&E and HOP training programs that promote understanding of human performance principles, error reduction techniques, and safety protocols.
    2. Ensure all employees are trained in HOP basics and continually reinforce HOP in safety training programs.
    3. Develop safety awareness initiatives that focus on a just culture, understanding human error, and managing error-prone situations.


  • Sustainability & Environmental Stewardship
    1. Oversee programs to minimize SANY America's environmental impact, including waste reduction, recycling, and energy conservation.
    2. Track environmental metrics and support sustainability goals by engaging employees in environmentally responsible practices.


  • Employee Engagement & HOP Communication
    1. Actively promote a positive safety culture rooted in HOP by engaging employees in safety conversations and recognizing safe behaviors.
    2. Act as a resource for HS&E and HOP topics, encouraging feedback and open discussion to continually improve systems.
    3. Regularly communicate safety, environmental updates, and HOP insights through meetings, bulletins, and reports.


PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will have:
• Minimum of 5 years in an HS&E role, with at least 2 years of experience in implementing HOP principles, ideally in a manufacturing, construction, or heavy equipment industry.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and state regulations, with a deep understanding of HOP principles and methodologies.
• Analytical skills for risk assessments and root cause analyses.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively deliver HOP training.
• Proficiency in HS&E management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to influence safety behavior and HOP integration across all levels.
• Skilled in applying HOP concepts to reduce incidents and support a learning organization.
• High accuracy in audits, reporting, and incident analysis with a focus on system improvements.

EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CSP, ASP, CIH, HOP Practitioner) are a plus.

COMPENSATION

Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience. It will include a base salary, an annual performance bonus, and other exceptional benefits.
