Position Overview: As a Sr. Financial Planning Specialist, you will be responsible for setting pre-season category and marketing demand plans and managing in-season performance across all categories and channels. Categories will include Wallpaper, Fabric, and Home Decor. Channels will be owned, trade, and 3PM's. The ideal candidate will be adept at analyzing in-season trends and maintaining a daily dashboard to guide decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pre-Season Planning:
    • Develop and set a comprehensive category and demand plan for each season (quarter) at a daily level.
    • Category plans to include ASP, AOV, gross margin, unit demand and revenues by product at a daily level.
    • Demand plans to include Traffic, CVR, New customer / Existing customer plan at a daily level.
    • Collaborate with category, marketing, and channel managers to understand market trends and consumer behavior, along with price and promo strategies identified by category managers.
    • Develop promotion forecast based on strategy identified by category managers. Ensure promo forecast ties to monthly discount budget by category.
    • Collaborate with product managers to understand major website changes and plan accordingly.
    • Prepare and publish forecasts for quarterly submission and working team utilization.
  • In-Season Planning:
    • Monitor and adjust forecasts based on in-season trends and performance.
    • Maintain and update a daily dashboard to track key metrics and performance indicators.
    • Maintain and update weekly dashboards to track key metrics and performance indicators. Develop summary statement with key takeaways to be shared with cross functional team and leadership in both written documentation and presentation.
    • Use data visualization tools to present findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
    • Analyze historical data and current trends to identify and communicate risks and opportunities by category and channel.
    • Ad hock data analysis as required.
  • Collaboration & Reporting:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including category managers, marketing, sales, and inventory management, to ensure alignment on objectives.
    • Work closely with cross-functional marketing channel planning and analysis to ensure in season execution.
    • Work closely with data team to build new data connections and reporting.
    • Prepare and present reports to senior management on demand trends, category performance, and forecasts.
    • Prepare and present monthly documentation and post-season takeaways.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Merchandising, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial planning, merchandising, or demand forecasting, preferably in eCommerce or retail.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting tools; experience with dashboard software is a plus, specifically Looker and Adobe.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other analytical tools.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
  • Detail-oriented is a must, with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
