Job Summary:
The Benefits Manager is responsible for overseeing the benefits functions as well as providing support for HR operations for the Firm. This individual must be capable of developing benefit plans and implementing systems and processes that comply with all state and federal laws. Additionally, the person must maintain strict confidentiality due to the sensitive nature of the role.
Essential Duties:
• Liaise with Firm management to develop and implement benefits strategies that attract, retain, and motivate top talent while ensuring internal equity and external competitiveness
• Conduct regular market analyses to compare the Firm's benefit packages against industry standards
• Develop communication strategies to educate managers, employees, and partners on the benefits offered by the Firm
• Collaborate with various departments to align benefit strategies with Firm objectives and priorities
• Stay informed about HR best practices and make recommendations for improvement
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations regarding benefit plans
• Work with vendors to manage relationships and ensure optimal service delivery
• Conduct benefit orientations for all new hires
• Lead the open enrollment process including presenting open enrollment sessions and providing support for employees and partners during open enrollment period.
• Collaborate with Benefits Coordinator to administer various types of leave, including FMLA, parental, and other leave programs
• Analyze and optimize benefit costs while maintaining or improving the quality of offerings
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in an HR or related field preferred; High School Diploma required
• Minimum of 5 to 7 years of human resources experience, preferably with most of those years working with benefit programs
• Ability to manage and administer a broad range of tasks
• Ability to prepare written reports, correspondences, and presentations to executive staff and other Firm personnel as needed
• Ability to build and maintain positive relationships internally and externally
• Extensive knowledge of applicable state and federal employment laws and governmental compliance requirements
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Ability to perform essential job duties
