Key Responsibilities
- Assessment and Planning of Patient Care:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients and families, considering physiological, spiritual, and emotional aspects.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to develop and adjust patient-centric care plans.
- Communicate care plans effectively across shifts and departments to ensure continuity of care.
- Provision of Patient Care:
- Deliver competent, compassionate, and cost-effective care in line with hospital policies and evidence-based practices.
- Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for patients and their support groups.
- Delegate tasks appropriately based on team members' capabilities and legal scopes of practice.
- Ensure clear communication of treatments and activities to patients and families, fostering understanding and collaboration.
- Evaluation of Patient Care:
- Monitor interventions, assess therapies, and evaluate outcomes to ensure optimal patient care.
- Conduct ongoing education for patients and families to support transitions of care.
- Document patient responses to care plans and adjust as necessary to improve outcomes.
Qualifications - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current CA RN License.
- Certification in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in MedSurg/Telemetry.
- Previous EPIC experience required.
Skills and Knowledge - Strong understanding of nursing theories, medical terminology, and anatomy.
- Knowledge of healthcare industry standards, safety policies, and regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences.
- Effective time management and organizational skills to prioritize patient care.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in dynamic environments.
