Role Overview - CDL Driver Class B

We are thrilled to offer an opportunity for a CDL Driver within our Commercial team. As a key member, you will operate Orica’s bulk trucks (Mobile Mixing Units) and install blasting products at various local construction sites, mines, and quarries.

This position combines 40% driving responsibilities with 60% physical work related to product installation, including loading and unloading materials, handling equipment, and climbing onto trucks—all in various weather conditions.

Work Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Home every night
• Local driving (1-3 hours)
• Early morning starts at around 4 AM
• Approximately 10-12 hours per day
• Overtime may be required

Your Responsibilities:

• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles.
• Safely hook up and unhook trailers.
• Operate emulsion tanker trucks and box trucks.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of materials and dangerous goods.
• Participate in daily toolbox talks and monthly safety meetings.
• Report any unusual incidents or accidents immediately.

What You Bring:

• Minimum of one year experience in driving and/or handling materials.
• Understanding of DOT regulations.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit.
• Attention to detail and math skills for inventory management.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Physical Requirements:

• Capacity to load products and pull large hoses.
• Comfortable climbing on and off trucks in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and carry heavier items.
• Frequent bending and squatting may be required.

Your Qualifications:

• Class B CDL is required (Class A is a plus).
• Tanker and Hazmat endorsements preferred (assistance provided for obtaining endorsements).
• High School diploma or equivalent.

Compensation:

• Hourly Pay Range: $28-34
• Signing Bonus: $4,500
