  • Travel Nurse needed for an Inpatient / Med Surg assignment working nights in Spooner, Wisconsin. Calm, relaxed atmosphere in a hospital emphasizing a culture of excellence.
    Job Requirements
  • Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS
    Schedule Information
  • 12 hour Nights, Rotating every third weekend (may be asked to cover additional weekends).
  • Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd with an occasional every other.
  • Holiday Requirement: Every 3rd.
  • No self-scheduling. We try to stay as close as possible to block schedules.
    Unit Specific Information
  • Department: Medical Surgical | RN
  • # Beds: 18
  • Nurse: Patient Ratios: 1:4, sometimes 1:5, rarely 1:6.
  • Are RNs required to titrate drips: Occasionally.
  • Common titratable: Heparin, Cardizem- titratable (initiate levophed or dopamine on a deteriorating patient prior to transfer out).
  • Are there nurse aids on this unit: Yes. From 7am-2330. 1 AM CNA and 3-11 1 PM CNA. Answer lights, ADL cares, they can collect blood sugars, vital signs, EKGs.
  • RT Equipment: Cpap and Bipap and high flow and self rescue.
  • Floating Requirements: Float to ED at times if possible, to be the 2nd RN or help if they need help (would not be expected to take a full assignment).
  • Scrub Color: Any color professional scrubs.
    Additional Details
  • Common Diagnoses: Pneumonia, CHF, COPD, swing bed patients, weakness, cellulitis, covid, general surgical- appys overnight.
  • Positive attitudes only.
  • Charge Nurse: Day Charge to take patients and full assignment, house supervisor on nights.
  • Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit: RN to read.
  • Staff get a 12hr orientation day. 4hrs on the floor and 8hrs with the education RN. Buddy 1st day off.
  • This facility has a radius rule of 50 miles.
