The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Process Safety & Loss Prevention Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Leads, understand global regulations and helps set strategic direction for process safety and loss prevention globally.
- Develop and Implements process safety and loss prevention frameworks, policies and practices including standardized programs, training, risk assessments and program elements
- Collaborates across corporate and area EHS teams, engineering, R&D, legal affairs, sourcing, and external stakeholders to drive process safety performance and reduce risk.
- Develop and implement process safety and loss prevention training initiatives, i.e., hazards and operability (HAZOP) reviews process hazards analysis (PHA’s), layers of protection analysis (LOPA) and dust hazard analysis (DHA)
- Coach and mentor EHS contacts, engineers and supervision and others involved in leading or supporting process safety or loss prevention projects, program and improvement activities.
- Supports and leads risk assessments (PHA, DHA, LOPA, etc) for process safety and loss prevention to identify hazards and determine controls.
- Develop and implement process safety and loss prevention training initiatives, i.e., hazards and operability (HAZOP) reviews process hazards analysis (PHA’s) and mentor others involved in process safety improvement activities.
- Lead and/or participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis for significant process safety events, i.e., spills, releases, fires, etc.
- Participates and leads Global EHS audits and inspections of facilities, operations, and processes and work with operations and site leaders to address and rectify audit findings.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree AND five years’ experience performing risk assessment / analysis techniques such as HAZOP, PHA, DHA, LOPA
OR
- High School Diploma/GED AND nine years’ experience performing risk assessment / analysis techniques such as HAZOP, PHA, DHA, LOPA
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Minimum of five (5) years of safety experience with emphasis on process safety management
- Master's degree or higher in science, engineering or environmental, health and safety (EHS) from an accredited institution
- CCPS Certified Process Safety Professional designation
- Experience in implementation of comprehensive EHS management systems.
- Experience working with global regulations.
- Analytical, leadership, project planning, program development and deployment skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across disciplines.
- Experience working on a cross-functional team.

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $119,076 - $145,537, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
