As an Infusion Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients in the comfort of their own homes. You will work closely with patients, families, and PromptCare’s Intake and Sales teams to facilitate patient discharge and coordination of care in the home to ensure that each patient receives the best possible care. Teaching the patients and family members about their therapy and supplies and performing the initial hook-up of patients to their IV therapy to facilitate discharge to the home are also critical elements of the job. On-call requirements are based on region and state. To learn more about our company and services, please visit us at PromptCare In-home Respiratory and InfusionJob Type: Full-Time, Part-Time & Per Diem opportunities availableLocation: Nassau / Suffolk areaRequirementsMust be a Registered Nurse in New York State with a license in good standingMust have a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance in good standingCPR CertificationAt least 2 years’ experience as a home infusion nurse, or equivalent experience working in another field-based home nursing organization, is requiredIV and PICC certification is strongly preferredJob Responsibilities, Included But Not Limited ToConducts initial nursing assessments and evaluations to qualify patients for appropriateness and safety of home infusion therapy, along with any other needed specialized nursing careTrains patients and/or caregivers in all procedures and equipmentProvides patients and family members with timely and accurate information, and takes appropriate corrective actions regarding our services to ensure complete satisfactionDevelops and revises, when necessary, the patient’s plan of care with the patient, family, PromptCare/ARJ Pharmacist, and physicianVisits all assigned patients as ordered, and documents patient’s compliance, competence, and tolerance to benefits of prescribed therapy, interventionsProvides direct patient care as ordered and allowed by state lawAssumes on-call responsibility as assigned on a routine basisCoordinates patient’s care with other homecare agencies as necessaryCounsel patients on therapy management, side effects, and other pertinent issues relative to the patient’s disease/condition and other concerns based on manufacturer guidelines and co-morbiditiesCollaborate with the Pharmacist for clinical recommendations for a change to therapy or other supportive measures to enhance the patient’s response to therapy, as appropriate (infusion rate, pre-medications, supplies, etc.)Participates in in-services as requestedParticipates in the identification of nursing PI indicators and the collection of dataPer Diem/Part-time Registered Nurses are expected to make every attempt to provide nursing services for PC per request. This request may be made on short notice, but PC will make every effort to provide as much notice as possibleOther duties as assignedPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
