Position Overview:
The Studio Production Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the production process for photoshoots, from pre-production to post-production. This role ensures that all photography projects are executed efficiently, on time, and within budget while maintaining high-quality standards. The Studio Production Manager works closely with creative teams, photographers, stylists, and other cross-functional departments to streamline the production workflow and elevate the brand’s visual assets.
Key Responsibilities:
Pre-Production Planning:
• Collaborate with the creative team to understand the vision and goals of each photoshoot.
• Develop production schedules, timelines, and budgets, ensuring alignment with project needs.
• Source and manage external vendors including photographers, stylists, hair/makeup artists etc.
• Coordinate all logistical elements including location scouting, permitting, equipment rental, and transportation.
• Create and manage call sheets, shot lists, and production briefs for the crew.
• Ensure all creative assets (wardrobe, props, etc.) are sourced, prepared, and on-set.
On-Set Management:
• Supervise on-set operations and problem-solve production issues ensuring shoots run efficiently.
• Serve as the primary point of contact between the creative director, photographers, and production team.
• Oversee the setup of lighting, camera equipment, and any technical requirements for each shoot.
Post-Production Coordination:
• Collaborate with photographers and re-touchers to ensure timely delivery of final images.
• Oversee the selection, editing, and retouching process, ensuring that all visual assets meet brand guidelines.
• Organize and archive all digital files, ensuring accessibility for future use.
• Review and approve all final deliverables before releasing them to marketing or e-commerce teams.
Budget and Resource Management:
• Monitor project budgets and expenses, ensuring cost-efficiency while maintaining creative integrity.
• Negotiate rates with freelancers, vendors, and talent.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Work closely with marketing, e-commerce, and creative teams to align content needs and production priorities.
• Communicate production timelines and deliverables clearly to all stakeholders.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Proven experience (5+ years) in photography production, preferably within the fashion industry.
• Strong understanding of production management tools, photo workflows, lighting, and camera equipment.
• Excellent project management skills, strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and a proactive problem-solving approach.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with post-production processes, including photo editing and retouching.
Preferred:
• Bachelor's degree in Photography, Visual Arts, or a related field.
• Experience with e-commerce or fashion-related photography.
• Familiarity with digital asset management systems.
