Venteon is hiring a Material Planner/Scheduler

Pay Rate $65,000-$75,000

Job Description

The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure the on-time delivery of parts to customers and maintain the accuracy of customer release forecasts, production schedules, and shipping schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Send weekly EDI releases to all vendors.
  • Develop and manage a cycle count schedule.
  • Coordinate with carriers for pick-up and delivery based on vendor schedules.
  • Plan and schedule all production activities to align with customer releases.
  • Monitor finished goods inventory to ensure consistency and meet customer delivery requirements.
  • Notify suppliers of any discrepancies and issue DMNs (Discrepancy Management Notices) as necessary.
  • Set up CSAs (Customer Service Agreements), CMIRs (Customer Material Information Records), and Customer Packaging Instructions in SAP.
  • Act as a backup for the Shipping Supervisor during their absence or vacation.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Plant Manager or Department Manager.
  • Adhere to and practice Kaizen principles; participate in Kaizen and GEAR (Global Excellence and Results) activities.
  • Notify management of any potential problems, concerns, or opportunities for process improvement.
  • Comply with all departmental procedures and general company policies where applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with all MIOSHA (Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration) legislative requirements.
  • Maintain conformity with Environment ISO 14001 and IATF 16949 standards.

Basic Requirements:

  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent education.
  • Proven experience in:
  • Production planning and scheduling, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Inventory control.
  • Shipping and receiving processes.
  • Proficiency with MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems and computer software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees across the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Valid Forklift license is an asset (training can be provided if needed).
  • Must have no travel restrictions to Canada, as training will take place in the Toronto area.
