Join our dedicated team as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant focused on serving United States Veterans in the disability benefits process. This role is essential in conducting medical assessments that contribute to our veterans' lives.
As a Disability Assessor, you will review medical records electronically through a web portal and conduct in-person physical exams for each Veteran. Your objective is to gather and document essential examination findings in the required format.
Please note, while you will be performing valuable assessments, you will NOT be making disability determinations—those decisions are solely made by the United States Veterans Administration. This position strictly involves performing Disability Assessments for Veterans, and you will NOT be responsible for treatment or prescribing medication.
Your daily responsibilities will involve assessing 3-5 Veterans, making efficiency and time management crucial in this part-time role. The work schedule consists of 3 days per week during normal business hours, and you will never be on call.
Key Attributes:
- Passionate about conducting Independent Medical Assessments.
- Able to analyze medical data and exam findings to complete necessary questionnaires.
- Strong time management skills to ensure task completion.
- Must possess a current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license.
- Proficient in computer usage.
Requirements:
- Hold a current, unrestricted NP or PA (NCCPA accredited) license.
- Meet the credentialing requirements established by the VA.
