Job Summary:
We're looking for a hands-on leader to oversee the Laser, Shear, and Press Brake operations, which serve as the foundation of our production process. As the Cutting and Forming Department Lead, you'll play a critical role in ensuring high-quality output, efficient workflow, and a balanced production schedule. Your decisions will directly impact the overall productivity and harmony of our shop.
You'll manage a team of operators, coordinate activities with other departments, and implement strategies that optimize efficiency, safety, and quality. If you're a proactive problem-solver with a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, we want to hear from you.
What You'll Do:

  • Lead and supervise a team of Laser, Shear, and Press Brake operators to meet daily production goals.
  • Analyze production schedules and shop requirements to prioritize tasks and allocate resources.
  • Strategically sequence laser and forming tasks to ensure a smooth and level workflow across the shop.
  • Conduct quality inspections, ensuring products meet specifications and standards.
  • Coordinate with other department leads to maintain efficiency and on-time production.
  • Train and mentor employees on equipment operation, safety protocols, and best practices.
  • Monitor equipment and communicate maintenance needs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
What We're Looking For:
  • Experience: Preference of 2-3 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing facility with production scheduling proficiency.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; vocational or technical training a plus.
Skills:
  • Comprehensive knowledge of cutting and forming processes in a production environment.
  • Throughout understanding of production workflows within an manufacturing warehouse.
  • Strong understanding of the full production flow and its impact on shop operations.
  • Proficiency in reading shop cut sheets, engineering drawings, and using measurement tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
