CASUAL POSITIONnnGENERAL SUMMARY:nnUnder limited supervision, the Senior Special Procedure Tech provides direct care pre, intra, and post for patients undergoing Heart and/or Vascular procedures to assist physicians and delivers quality patient/family centered care. The incumbent may be required to perform IV starts, prep patients, monitor hemodynamics, operate equipment, document procedures, vascular access site management, and provide patient/family educationnnESSENTIAL DUTIES:nnMonitor patients undergoing routine invasive, interventional procedures. Provide intra-procedural technical support and quality patient/family centered care.nnMay be required to perform and record hemodynamic/physiologic wave forms and calculations.nnCommunicate effectively with co-workers, physicians, patients, families, and all ancillary departments while consistently demonstrating the Corewell Health Standards.nnPerform quality assurance checks on technical equipment. Perform department skills validations.nnMaintain radiation safety standards for staff and patients in compliance with the Corewell Health Radiation Safety Department.nnRequired to take On Call per department schedule.nnMay be required to provide training to less experienced techs.nnIR Special Procedure Techs must be able to 1st assist physicians using sterile technique, and fully participate in image post processing, cross modality imaging (CT, U/S), 3D imaging, vascular, and cerebral cases if performed at the site.nnCath Lab Special Procedure Techs, if performed at the site, must be able to utilize IVUS, FFR, OCT, ICE, EKOS, Impella, Cardiac, peripheral, and Carotid interventions.nnEP Lab Special Procedure Techs, if performed at the site, must be able to utilize ICE, participate in device Implants, and circulate in all other EP cases. As well as 3D mapping, advanced EP procedures, and laser lead extractions.nnSTANDARD QUALIFICATIONS:nnEducation / Training:nnInterventional Radiology requires completion of an accredited radiography program (JRCERT).nnCath Lab/EP Lab requires employee to be a graduate of Cardiovascular Technologist program, associate degree in cardiovascular technology/basic science, Paramedic license, Exercise Physiologist, or equivalent training and/or education.nnWork Experience:nnEmployee must have more than 3 + years of Interventional experience.nnEmployee must be an expert and able to train others in the clinical skills listed within below grid per each individual department and/or site scope.nnIf the department is a combination of specialties, employee must be an expert in all areas that are performed.nnCertification, Licensure, Registration:nnIR requires BLS certification and active RT status upon hire, and an RT-CV or VI registration.nnCath Lab requires BLS and ACLS upon hire, Registered RCES/RCIS/RT certification, and IABP certificationnnEP Lab requires BLS and ACLS upon hire. Registered RCIS/RCES/RT.nnOther Qualifications:nnBasic computer skills, math skills, exceptional communication skills, and outstanding customer service skills.nnCath Lab must be on site within 30 min.
