Job Summary

This role will be part of the Aspen Dental Product Management team. We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join our product development team. Our team is doing exciting work build the next generation of dental practice management and dental lab management applications. Your responsibilities will include partnering with the product managers, developers and the business to define detailed requirements (User Stories, Acceptance Criteria) and ensure proper documentation to bring new software products to life and evolve existing products. In addition, you will partner with the business to ensure user acceptance testing is robust and all feedback is documented and reviewed. You will also play an essential role as a subject matter expert for your assigned domain in the applications.


Core Responsibilities:

Requirements Gathering:

  • Work with stakeholders to understand needs and define detailed product requirements (e.g., user stories, acceptance criteria, metrics, dashboards).
  • Use tools like interviews, workshops, and process documentation to collect and document workflows.

Process Documentation:

  • Analyze and document current workflows.
  • Clearly define processes to guide product development and improve accuracy.

Collaboration with Agile Teams:

  • Break down large requirements into manageable pieces to support iterative development.
  • Work closely with developers, UX designers, and product managers to build features quickly and efficiently.

Testing & Quality Assurance:

  • Lead user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure the software meets defined requirements.
  • Design and execute test plans, document results, and work with stakeholders to address feedback.

Data Analysis:

  • Use tools like SQL, reports, and dashboards to analyze product performance.
  • Use data insights and user feedback to recommend improvements to the product managers.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify operational/system inefficiencies and recommend solutions.
  • Collaborate with the team to design enhancements and ensure smooth implementation.


Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant combination of education and experience.
  • 3-4 years of experience as a business analyst.
  • Experience working with databases; ability to write and manage SQL queries
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry,
  • Consolidate & formalize requirements from a diverse group of stakeholders. Encourage and question business units on their assumptions regarding implementation and design.
  • Strong communicator - Facilitation of requirements and meetings thru asking probing questions and truly listening and absorbing the needs of business partners and vendors
  • Align business & technical objectives to facilitate a shared understanding of the problem at hand
  • Evaluate and critically consider multiple options before helping the team settle on a solution
  • Impeccable organization, documentation and requirements writing skills - You have a keen ability to build clear and concise requirements
  • Open to constructive feedback and learning from an experienced team
  • Demonstrate excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, flexible and adaptable attitude, can manage shifting priorities, requests, and timelines.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams and communicate with colleagues in both business and technical roles.
  • Flexibility in use of SDLC frameworks – Agile/Waterfall/Hybrid
