Job Description

We're seeking a meticulous and well-organized Legal Assistant to join our client's team in Charleston, SC. This is a full-time permanent position, with an initial onboarding period through a temp-to-hire arrangement. This position offers a hybrid schedule (2 days remote per week) after 60 days of employment.


Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate office activities for Attorneys, performing a variety of legal assistant duties, such as scheduling hearings, preparing legal documents and correspondence
  • Prepare written reports, business letters, minutes, charts other documents as directed
  • Maintain court dockets and diaries, filing, and providing information and direction to others
  • Interact with clients and opposing counsel as necessary to effectively perform assigned duties for Attorney(s)
  • Assist attorneys in preparation for hearings
  • Organize case files including, but not limited to: indexing, reports, charts, and numerical and tabular materials


Education/Experience:

  • Associate Degree, or equivalent work experience, Bachelor’s Degree a plus
  • 2 years of relevant legal experience to develop necessary knowledge base
  • Insurance and litigation experience preferred
  • Experience with MS Office, Westlaw, case management software, and Outlook
  • Experience with document production/management software


Compensation:

  • $40,000-$55,000 annual salary, based on experience
