Job Description

An aerospace client is looking for an Aerospace Laboratory Technician who will work under the Electrical Component and Material Lab (ECML) section. The successful candidate will support the DPA Lab by performing DPA testing on a wide variety of electronic components (passives, actives, connectors, hybrids, IMAs, COTS).


Location: Manhattan Beach, CA 90266

Position: Aerospace Laboratory Technician

Pay Rate : $34.68/hr. on W2

Duration : 6 months or longer

Schedule: 9/80


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts experiments and tests involving wafer, electronic, electromechanical, mechanical, optical, hydraulic, metallurgical, vacuum, or chemicals within fabrication or processing laboratories to support engineering and reliability analyses.
  • Evaluates new processes, components, products, and systems in conformance with engineering specifications.
  • Isolates problems for further analysis.
  • Collects and documents results, and generates reports.
  • May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
  • May design experiments.
  • May be required to ensure correct functioning and identify any discrepancies.
  • May advise operators and inform engineers regarding processes, procedures, and equipment.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D) plus 2 years experience performing technician responsibilities in a lab environment.
  • Ability to follow test plans and work with hands
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Outlook) skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance if hired as FTE.


PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Experience working at a DPA Lab or electronics failure analysis lab environment
  • Experience with Mil-Std-883, Mil-Std-750, Mil-Std-1580
  • Experience with Destructive Physical Analysis Lab equipment (such as microscopes, bond-pull, die-shear, SEM/EDX, cross-sectioning, etc.)
  • Good verbal & written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented
