Job Description

We're searching for a Civil Design Engineer with Business Development Experience to enhance our team in Houston, TX. This full-time, hybrid position offers the flexibility of remote work while managing both local and out-of-state projects. As a key player in our Texas expansion, you'll spearhead business development initiatives, oversee project execution, provide technical leadership, and be an integral part of our client’s dynamic team.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Direct the design process for roadway and bridge projects to ensure compliance with client requirements and standards.
  • Business Development: Partner with senior leadership to identify new projects, engage potential clients, and expand our market presence.
  • Technical Leadership: Offer guidance to junior engineers and collaborate with peers across offices. Mentor team members and promote professional development.
  • Surveying & Utility Relocation: Oversee surveying, right-of-way acquisition, and utility relocation projects, working closely with licensed land surveyors and technical staff.
  • Client Interaction: Serve as the primary contact for clients in Texas, nurturing lasting relationships.
  • Team Strategy: Develop strategies to grow the Houston office and support projects in other regions.

Qualifications:

  • Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) License required, Texas license preferred. Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum 10-15 years in transportation engineering, focusing on roadway and bridge design.
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and OpenRoads; familiarity with MicroStation.
  • Skills: Strong in business development and client relationship management. Able to manage projects independently and collaborate with remote teams.
  • Additional: Experience in hydraulics and utility relocation is advantageous. Willingness to travel as needed.
