POSITION DESCRIPTION:


The Supply Chain Planner Supervisor oversees and optimizes the supply chain planning process to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations. This role includes managing production schedules, inventory levels, and logistics while supervising a team of planners and coordinators. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in supply chain management, leadership, and problem-solving to drive operational excellence and meet business goals.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Supply Chain Planning: Develop and manage production schedules to align with customer requirements and raw material availability.
  • Analyze demand forecasts and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure supply meets production needs.
  • Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain to ensure on-time delivery and cost efficiency.
  • Optimize material flow and inventory strategies to minimize waste and reduce costs.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor supply chain planner, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment to improve communication and coordination across departments.
  • Set team objectives, monitor progress, and ensure alignment with overall company goals.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels, ensuring alignment with production schedules and business goals.
  • Implement and monitor continuous improvement strategies, including Kanban and ABC inventory analysis.
  • Manage inventory transitions, such as phase-ins and phase-outs, while minimizing liabilities.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with Procurement, Production, and Sales teams to ensure a seamless supply chain process.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for cross-functional planning efforts, resolving conflicts and aligning priorities.
  • Facilitate regular planning meetings and communicate updates to key stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve supply chain efficiency and implement best practices.
  • Develop and maintain performance metrics to evaluate supply chain effectiveness.
  • Lead or participate in projects aimed at improving processes, reducing costs, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and present reports on supply chain performance, including KPIs, forecasts, and improvement initiatives.


  • REQUIRED SKILLS / ATTITUDES: 5+ years of experience in supply chain planning, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced knowledge of supply chain software and tools.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
