As an Infusion Nurse, you will be responsible for providing specialized nursing care to patients in their homes. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans and administering intravenous medications and treatments. You will also be responsible for educating patients and their families about home care, medications, and treatments. To learn more about our company and services, please visit us at PromptCare In-home Respiratory and InfusionReporting to: Manager of NursingJob Type: Full-Time, day shifts, 40 hours per week w/on-call responsibilitiesLocation: Southern New Hampshire and North Boston, MARequirementsMust be a Registered Nurse in the state inquiring of employment and in good standingMust have a valid driver’s license and automobile insuranceProfessional Liability InsuranceCPR CertificationKnowledge of PIV, Mid-Line, PICC Line, Tunneled Catheters, and PortsAt least 2 years’ experience as a home infusion nurse, or equivalent experience working in another field-based home nursing organization, is requiredED experience preferredDemonstrated proficiency in IV insertion, vascular access devices, and infusion pumpsSpecific training and/or certification as a heart failure nurse is highly desirableStrong pediatric peripheral IV skills preferredCertified Nurse Infusionist (CRNI) preferredExperience with the following IV therapies is a major advantage: inotropes, intravenous immunoglobulin, and Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN)Job Responsibilities, Included But Not Limited ToConducts initial nursing assessments and evaluations to qualify patients for appropriateness and safety of home infusion therapy, along with any other needed specialized nursing careTrains patients and/or caregivers in all procedures and equipmentDevelops and revises, when necessary, the patient’s plan of care with the patient, family, Pharmacist, and physicianVisits all assigned patients as ordered, and documents patient’s compliance, competence, and tolerance to benefits of prescribed therapy, interventionsProvides direct patient care as ordered and allowed by state lawAssumes on-call responsibility as assigned on a routine basisInventories patient supplies and informs pharmacy of patient’s needsCoordinates patient’s care with other homecare agencies as necessaryCounsel patients on therapy management, side effects, and other pertinent issues relative to the patient’s disease/condition and other concerns based on manufacturer guidelines and comorbiditiesCollaborate with the Pharmacist for clinical recommendations for a change to therapy or other supportive measures to enhance the patient’s response to therapy, as appropriate (infusion rate, pre-medications, supplies, etc.)Plans daily events to be as efficient as possible with time management (e.g., minimizes travel time by planning routes ahead of time)Submits professional nursing notes for each patient visit into our enterprise system immediately following each IV therapy sessionProperly triage problems in the field in accordance with company standards and other verbal and written training policiesMaintains strong knowledge of PromptCare’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensures that they are applied consistentlyMaintains compliance to all applicable laws, regulations, and SOPs alwaysConducts activities with a mindset of delivering “white glove” service to the patients and family membersSubmits expense reports for travel at least once monthly and in a timely mannerProjects a positive attitude always with patients and family members and gets involved in PromptCare’s employee activitiesPer Diem/Part-time Registered Nurses are expected to make every attempt to provide nursing services for PC per request.
