UPMC Mercy is hiring a full-time MRI Technologist Specialist to join their team!
This position's hours will consist of four 10-hour shifts that will vary from daylight, evening, and nights. This position will require weekend and holiday availability, but will not have on-call responsibilities.
We are offering a $15,000 sign-on bonus with a 2-year commitment or a $30,000 sign-on bonus with a 3-year work commitment to eligible hires!
Responsibilities:
Creates and implements new training programs, where applicable, and assists with the startup of new offsite locations.
Responsibilities for new locations include, but are not limited to, working on reporting systems, obtaining appropriate images, and effectively communicating with attending physicians as well as co-workers and patients.
Attends advanced training sessions and seminars in order to maintain industry standards in imaging techniques and disseminates information to imaging departmental leadership and as a part of new hire orientation.
Serves as a technical resource to technologists on a daily operational basis.
Assists technologist with continuing education needs and participates as a peer delegate in staff annual performance reviews.
Performs all job responsibilities of Level II Advanced MRI Technologist, including: practices and maintains MR safety in the department, addresses patient safety through proper patient identification, labeling/preparation/and administration of contrast and communicating according to standard operating procedures, completes procedures according to protocol while presenting relevant information to physician, and updates and documents patient information into rad assessment.
Leads training on new techniques, protocols, and software applications and collaborates with radiologists and researchers where applicable to identify new techniques and problem solving resolutions.
Responsible for offering remediation with technologists when necessary.
Assists with research studies where applicable.
Assists with accreditation responsibilities and ensures that all quality control tests, safety standards, and procedures are conducted and documented and that performance of all equipment is accurate within established parameters.
Responsible for tech quality assurance program and the reviewing and updating of protocols alongside of or in place of the Lead MRI Tech.
Assumes leadership role in training staff on new equipment.
Graduate of an approved AMA School of Radiologic technology.
3 years of experience in MRI required.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:ARRT MR or ARMRIT MR Certified required within 18 months of hire. CPR or BLS Required. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
ARRT Certificate OR American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT) OR Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC) OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
Act 33 with renewal
Act 34 with renewal
Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
