Weekend, holiday, and on-call rotation.nnPOSITION SUMMARY: The Computerized Tomography (CT) Technologist is responsible for providing radiographic care for the purpose of diagnostic and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders.nnESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:nnPerforms all routine diagnostic radiographic CT procedures through proper patient positioning and technique selection, in accordance with established LG protocols, policies and procedures.nnReceives requests, checking for special instructions from the requesting physicians. Consults with Radiologists as necessary.nnGreets patients--confirming their identifications performing the correct procedures as directed and completely explaining the procedure to patient and family as directed.nnOperates and enters information through the hospital computer system. Documents required information and patient history in the electronic medical record. Documents other information as required.nnCompletes examination, consultation, and billing procedures as required.nnAccurately and appropriately utilizes all computer related equipment, such as the electronic health record, email and the intranet.nnSECONDARY FUNCTIONS: The following duties are considered secondary to the primary duties listed above:nnPerforms visual preventive safety inspections. Completes warm-up procedures for each radiographic room/equipment as assigned. Records quality control activities. Reports equipment conditions to immediate leadership or appropriate personnel.nnCompliance with OSHA and other mandated safety procedures or regulations.nnMaintains necessary inventory supplies for assigned workstation, rotating stock in an orderly fashion and eliminating outdated items.nnFunctions as an X-Ray Technologist, as needed, at defined service locations.nnParticipates in the clinical education of Radiology students as required.nnParticipates in the on-call responsibilities for this position as required.nnOther duties as assigned.nnJOB REQUIREMENTSnnMINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:nnGraduate of an AMA-approved Radiological Technology, Nuclear Medicine or Radiation Therapy School.nnCertification/degree in Radiologic Technology, Nuclear Medicine, Computerized Tomography, or Radiation Therapy.nnCT Technologist must obtain CT Certification within 18 months of hire.nnCPR certification is required.nnMust have worked or studied in patient care environment and performed high quality imaging procedures.nnPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:nnTwo (2) years of advanced imaging experience.nnDisclaimer: This job description is not intended and should not be construed to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills, efforts, or working conditions associated with the job.
