Amergis Staffing is currently seeking a Occupational Therapist for the 2024/2025 school year in the San Escondido, CA area.nnPosition Details:nnSchedule: Monday - FridaynnHours/Week: 40 hoursnnStart Date: Upon completion of onboardingnnLength: 2024/2025 School YearnnDetails: School/Education setting,nnAmergis AdvantagesnnWe have offices in most major cities across the countrynnPremium pay rates with tax advantage compensationnnHealth/Dental/Vision Insurance available on 1st of monthnnWeekly pay through direct depositnnFully furnished, private housing available (pets are welcomed)nnExpense reimbursement for travel and state licensure availablennAccessible via office phone, email, or textnnEmergency, On-call line, available 24/7nnThe Occupational Therapist (OT) is responsible for performing student evaluations, developing and providing therapy services, and documenting services in accordance with the plan of care developed for each student.nnEssential Duties and Responsibilities:nnProvides skilled occupational therapy services/interventions in accordance with physician ordersnnRegularly reevaluates student for rehabilitation needs, and works in collaboration with the physician and other members of the healthcare team to modify the plan of care as appropriatennCollaborates with all disciplines to plan and evaluate team goals for each studentnnAssesses student’s needs, plans for, evaluates and modifies care to meet goals of Occupational Therapy InterventionsnnInstructs student/family/caregivers on the student's total occupational therapy programnnAdvises, consults and instructs members of the multi-disciplinary team in specific occupational therapy modalitiesnnObserves and reports student progress and/or changes in student status to the physician and appropriate multi-disciplinary team membersnnDirects OT treatment and develops occupational therapy plan of carennRefers individuals to other disciplines as deemed appropriate and as approved by the physiciannnReports reaction to treatment and adverse signs and symptoms to the physician, building/district nurse and the parents/caregiversnnTeaches new skills or retrains students in once-familiar daily activities that have become difficult or unfamiliar due to illness or injurynnEstablishes equipment needs to facilitate independent functioningnnInstructs student and family/caregiver in the use of various types of adaptive equipment to improve function; ensures equipment is in good working ordernnTrains student and family/caregiver in use of prosthetic and/or orthotic devicesnnProvides accurate and timely documentation according to the plan of carennParticipates in IEP conferences or other meetings as required to ensure coordination of health services (if applicable)nnPrepares and submits clinical progress-summary based on the progress of goalsnnSupervises Occupational Therapy Assistants according to company policies/procedures and State regulationsnnComplies with applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations regarding professional standards and practice standardsnnMay fabricate splints and instruct individual and/or family/caregiver in the use, application and benefitsnnPerforms other duties as assigned/necessarynnMinimum Requirements:nnCurrent licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the State of practicennOne (1) year of prior professional Occupational Therapy experience preferrednnParticipation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicablennCurrent CPR if applicablennTB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicablennCurrent Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)nnMust meet all federal, state and local requirementsnnSuccessful completion of new hire training as applicable to job sitennUnderstand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirementsnnAbility to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is requirednnComputer proficiency requirednnMust be at least 18 years of agennBenefitsnnAt Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits:nnCompetitive pay & weekly paychecksnnHealth, dental, vision, and life insurancenn401(k) savings plannnAwards and recognition programsnn*Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status.nnAbout AmergisnnAmergis, formerly known as Maxim Healthcare Staffing, has served our clients and communities by connecting people to the work that matters since 1988.
