Components Engineer

Seeking to hire an Staff Component Engineer who will have the opportunity to join a team of highly competent engineering professionals involved in the design, development, and support of Digital and RF/Microwave Products. The engineer will be responsible for ensuring the electrical components in the modules meet the highest reliability requirements as well as the product life cycle requirements.
Responsibilities include:
1. Researching component termination styles, plastic encapsulation styles and component construction processes
2. Generation of Vendor Identification Drawings, Source Control Drawings and Altered Item Drawings.
3. Lead component part standardization, part selection
4. Process change notices in PTC windchill for Part Bill of Materials & maintaining the engineering BOM in accordance with LM processes.
5. Develop component qualification test plans and execute part qualifications with Test houses.
6. Develop component screenings for parts as directed by Parts Management Process plan.
7. Interface with customers to present part changes and impact to hardware.
8. Lead Component Failure Investigations as needed.
9. Participate in qualifying alternate test houses for part finish mitigations & part qualification.
10. Research and determine impact of PCN's and obsolescence on the programs.
11. Mentoring less experienced engineers with parts knowledge.
Basic Qualifications :
1. Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
2. Component Engineering Experience.
3. Good verbal and written communication skills.
4. Secret clearance to start.
US Citizen or US Person
Desired skills :
1. Experience with PTC windchill application for BOM maintenance
2. Experience with RF Component Selection
3. Experience with Part qualification & Failure analysis
4. Demonstrated knowledge of military standards & automotive electronics standards.
