The territory for this position will be the entire United States. This job is based in Naples, FL, however, remote work in other locations in the territory, ideally near a major metropolitan airport, will be considered.

The targeted cash compensation package (Base, Commissions and Bonus) for this position is $200,000 to $300,000. There is potential to exceed this amount based on experience and performance in the role. In addition to a generous 401k program, Arthrex contributes to a non-qualified retirement plan funded entirely by Arthrex on your behalf after one year of employment.

Summary Requirements:

The Director of North America Veterinary Sales and Business Development is a strategic leader responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market presence, developing sales strategies, capturing new business opportunities, and leading the sales organization across the North American Veterinary market. The role oversees the North American sales organization. This role requires a strategic leader with a proven track record in sales leadership, market penetration, business partnerships, and team management to achieve ambitious business objectives.

Main Objective:

To lead and execute a strategic vision that drives revenue growth, expands market presence, develops business partnerships, and establishes the company as a leading player in the North American Veterinary market. This contains directing business development efforts, building and managing a high-performing sales team, maintaining and developing strong customer relationships, and guaranteeing the successful achievement of sales goals with corporate objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy and Business Development
  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to capture new business opportunities, expand into new markets, achieve revenue and growth targets.
  • Identify market opportunities, trends, and competitive dynamics to adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Discover and evaluate potential business partnerships, alliances, and acquisition opportunities to accelerate market expansion.
  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to align sales objectives with market initiatives.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of new prospects, gaining continuous lead generation and sales opportunities.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to shape and execute growth initiatives.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to uncover the needs of the customers, emerging trends, and untapped opportunities.
  • Team Leadership and Development
  • Lead, inspire, and manage a high-performing Veterinary sales team across multiple regions in North America.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor team members, foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, leadership, and integrity to ensure professional growth and achievement of sales goals.
  • Set clear performance metrics for business development and sales, track progress, and provide regular feedback.
  • Customer Relationship Management
  • Cultivate and maintain strong strategic relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders for long term business growth.
  • Lead negotiations for contracts, partnerships, and deals to ensure alignment with company objectives.
  • Act as a senior-level point of contact for major accounts and escalations.
  • Financial and Operational Accountability
  • Manage the sales and business development budget, forecast revenues, and control costs to optimize profitability.
  • Develop and provide regular reporting on sales performance and market insights to executive leadership.
  • Track and evaluate the return on investment for business development initiatives to optimize strategies.
  • Ensure alignment with overall corporate goals and compliance with company policies.
  • Market Expansion and Innovation
  • Drive market expansion efforts, including new customer acquisition and regional growth strategies.
  • Identify and implement innovative sales techniques, tools, and technologies to enhance productivity.
  • Work directly with Sales Management, Product Management, Medical Education to develop relationships and help to enhance the overall goals of the business.
  • Partner with product and marketing teams to develop go-to-market strategies.
  • Drive initiatives to increase adoption of new products and services.

Education and Experience:

  • BA/BS Degree required. Marketing or Business concentration a plus (MBA preferred)
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in sales and business development required.
  • A minimum of 5 years in a leadership role overseeing large, geographically dispersed teams required.
  • Proven success in achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Expertise in market analysis, competitive intelligence, and business growth strategies.
  • Strong understanding of veterinary North American market trends and dynamics.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience with Software platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Axis, PowerBI, Business Portal, etc.) and data-driven decision-making.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Experience in Veterinary Medicine required.
  • Experience in Orthopedic Veterinary Medicine preferred.
  • Background in managing multi-channel sales strategies (direct, distributors)
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft PC based programs (MS Office: Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Project),
  • Highly proficient in Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint required.
