Job Description

LHH is looking for a full-time Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our client growing company in Seattle, WA. This position will be a 6-month contract that is fully onsite at the client location.
Job Summary:
The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing the company's accounts receivable process. This includes ensuring accurate invoicing, timely collection of payments, and maintaining strong customer relationships. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and skilled at balancing customer service with financial accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:

  1. Invoice and Billing Management:
  • Prepare and issue accurate customer invoices based on contracts, purchase orders, or sales data.
  • Ensure all invoices comply with company policies and tax regulations.
  1. Payment Collection and Application:
  • Monitor incoming payments and ensure they are recorded accurately in the accounting system.
  • Apply payments to customer accounts, resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Manage credit card, ACH, and other payment methods.
  1. Customer Account Management:
  • Maintain customer account records, including contact information and payment terms.
  • Work with customers to resolve billing issues, discrepancies, or disputes.
  • Provide excellent customer service to foster positive relationships and ensure timely payments.
  1. Collections and Aging Reports:
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging reports to identify overdue accounts.
  • Initiate follow-ups with customers regarding past-due balances and negotiate payment arrangements.
  • Escalate delinquent accounts to management or third-party collections as needed.
  1. Reconciliations and Reporting:
  • Reconcile AR balances to the general ledger.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Provide support during audits by preparing documentation related to accounts receivable.
  1. Compliance and Internal Controls:
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, GAAP, and legal regulations regarding accounts receivable and revenue recognition.
  • Maintain proper documentation and controls to support the integrity of AR processes.
  1. Process Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance the accounts receivable workflow.
  • Assist in the implementation and optimization of AR software or tools.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience in accounts receivable, billing, or a related accounting role.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and AR best practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for customer interactions.
  • Ability to handle high volumes of work and meet deadlines.
Compensation: $28-$32/hour DOE
