Although this role is primarily remote, it does require residing within commuting distance to Suitland, MD (Census Bureau HQ).nnRequirements:nnCertificate in GIS or an Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science or a related fieldnnInternships are a plus.nnCoursework with ArcGIS (workstation and desktop); Arc View, AutoCAD Map.nnGood organizational and communication skills.nnSome knowledge of civil engineering, cartography surveying and drafting.nnExperience with ArcSDE, ArcIMS, Cartography, Imagery, and understanding of Databases is a plus.nnAbility to work as a member of a team.nnAbility to share GIS knowledge with other team members.nnMust be a US Citizen.nnResponsibilities:nnThis is a direct position in GIS data enhancement and maintenance using ESRI and custom GIS software.nnEvaluate, edit, and check street centerline, hydrography, and other data layers (graphics and attributes), using custom map production tools.nnUsing computer software will include revisions and edits of GIS drawings and files.
