FUNCTION:nnThe Senior Data Quality Analyst will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of our data assets. This position involves leading data quality initiatives, developing, and implementing data quality standards, and working closely with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in data quality management practices. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and possesses a deep understanding of data quality and data observability methodologies. (This position is hybrid with locations options of either Buffalo, NY or Wilmington, DE)nnPOSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:nnConduct comprehensive data quality assessments to identify and resolve data inconsistencies and errors.nnUtilize data profiling tools and techniques to analyze data sources and identify quality issues, anomalies, and trends.nnDevelop and enforce data quality standards, policies, and procedures to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and reliability.nnCollaborate with data stewards, data engineers, and business stakeholders to establish and maintain data quality practices.nnEstablish process and strategy for Extra, Transform and Load (ETL)/Data-Load & Data Integration based data quality assessment and controls.nnCollaborate with stakeholders to translate internal customer requirements into engaging visualization solutions.nnProvide guidance and mentorship to junior data quality analysts and other team members.nnPrepare and present data quality reports and dashboards to senior management and stakeholders.nnMonitor, identify, assess, document, and communicate potential quality issues in the way data is collected, stored, processed, or used.nnResearch and determine scope and complexity of data quality issues to identify steps to remediate issues.nnStay current with industry trends and best practices in data quality management, governance, and observability.nnUnderstand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.nnPromote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.nnMaintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.nnComplete other related duties as assigned.nnNATURE AND SCOPE:nnMANAGERIAL/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:nnNonennMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:nnBachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years related experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 9 years higher education and/ or work experience, including a minimum of 5 years related experience.nnProficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL) and experience with database management systemsnnStrong understanding of data quality principles, methodologies, and best practices.nnProficiency in data quality and observability tools (e.g., Informatica Cloud Data Quality, Monte Carlo, Anomalo, Collibra OwlDQ etc.) and data profiling techniques.nnExperience with database or data analytics related programming languages.nnStrong analytical skills/problem solving/conceptual thinking.nnIDEAL QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:nnExperience in designing ETL/Data integration processes.nnExperience using data quality and governance tools.nnExperience with DQ dimensions like completeness, validity, accuracy, timeliness etc.nnExperience with data quality frameworks and practices.nnExcellent analytical skills and attention to detail.nnStrong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to think critically.nnProficiency in SQL and experience with database management systems.nnFamiliarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).nnExcellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex data issues to non-technical stakeholders.nnProven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.nnExperience with AI/ML driven data quality and observability tools.nnExperienced with scripting language (Python etc.) is a plus.nnExperience with Cloud Technology (Microsoft Azure, Snowflake etc.) is a plus.nnExperience with ETL/Data integration and Data WarehousennM&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $119,400.84 - $199,001.40 Annual (USD).
